BACKGROUND:
I was born in Birmingham, Michigan but soon moved to British Columbia, Canada with my family. For the last fourteen years I have lived in Ontario and I have spent most of the last ten years working and living in the city of Toronto.
Currently I work mainly on a wide variety of residential landscape projects from intimate city gardens to grand estates outside of the city. I spent the majority of the year 2000 in Europe working as an English teacher in Spain, Germany and the United Kingdom. It was a great opportunity to travel and experience foreign countries in a completely different manner. I have also traveled within Guatemala and Mexico within the past few years and have studied Spanish in both Spain and Central America.
Current pastimes outside of work include sailing, cycling, B/W photography and printing, some web development and related graphic projects.
EDUCATION:
From 1994 to 1997 I studied Landscape Architecture at Ryerson University in Toronto and graduated in the spring of 1997.
In January/February of 2000 I completed a 6 week course for autoCAD at Act E - Advanced Computer Training for Architects and Engineers in Toronto, On. The course was comprised of 3 modules: autoCAD r14, autoCAD r2000 and solid modeling.

EXPERIENCE:
John Lloyd and Associates Toronto, Ontario - 2001 to present
At John Lloyd and associates I am currently working as an intermediate designer as well as providing the majority of the technical support for the firm's computer network. Primary duties include design, cost estimation and project management on a wide variety of projects ranging from campus master plans, estate planning, residential garden design, corporate campuses and various housing development projects within the greater Toronto area.
The Wallace Floyd Design Group - 2001
Worked as a landscape architectural designer on public pprojects within the greater Boston Area. Projects ranged from schoolyard design to parks and public open spaces and responsibilities included, design, preparation of construction documents and presentation boards.
University of Hanover, Hanover Germany - spring 2000
Taught English for Landscape Architecture, Biology and Horticulture at the university. I was responsible for the preparation of lesson plans, student evaluations and for administering language skills evaluations for students from other disciplines of study.
In addition to the University of Hanover I also taught English Classes for German Telecom, BMW Hanover and the Millfield English Language School in Somerset England.
Allweather Landscape Co. Ltd. 1996-2000
My responsibilities as a designer and estimator included : creating landscape designs from concepts to rendered presentation drawings, cost estimation and the preparation of proposals, sales and project management and client/customer services.
I also worked on their construction crews on a wide variety of projects from single family residential homes to large corporate campuses and cemeteries. I was involved with all of the practical aspects of landscape construction have worked with a wide variety of hard and soft materials and have been exposed to many different approaches for the utilization for these materials.
Independent Landscape Designer 1998-1999
I created a part-time landscape design business for myself from a home office creating conceptual drawings and finished layout plans for a residential and commercial clientele.
